In Finland, Turku is reachable by plane, car, train or bus. Åbo Akademi University is located within a walking distance (about 15 minutes) of the city centre. From abroad, you can travel by air – via Helsinki or directly to Turku – or by sea. Air travel directly to Turku is strongly recommended, since this will save a lot of time. There are connecting, direct flights available from SAS/Blue1 from Stockholm and Copenhagen.

By air

The taxi from the Turku airport takes around 15 minutes and costs 20–25 euros. A bus connection to the city centre is also available (2.50 euros).

If you are travelling from Helsinki, there is a direct bus connection from the terminal. The trip takes 2.5 hours and costs about 25 euros.

By bus

Walking distance to the conference site: from the cathedral 10 minutes; from the main station 20 minutes.

By boat

Connections from Stockholm to Turku:

Forty-minutes walk from the harbour or taxi (about 20 euros) or bus to the city centre (2.50 euros).

By train

Walking distance to the conference site: Kupittaa/Kuppis station 20 minutes, main station 30 minutes.
